May I select any contractor to build my home?
Yes!

What size of home is required?
The minimum size is 2000 sq. ft. for a one-story home. A one-and-a-half story home must be a minimum of 1200 sq. ft. on the first floor and a minimum of 2100 sq. ft. overall. A two-story home must be 1200 sq. ft. on the first floor and a minimum of 2400 sq. ft. in total area.

What about garages?
Garages must be attached to the home and can be a maximum of 900 sq. ft.

How long does it take to get my plans approved by the architectural committee?
Within 30 days of submission of your plans to the Architectural Control Committee you will be notified in writing of approval or of any changes required by the Committee. If changes are required, you will receive a response within 15 days of re-submission of your revised plans.

When can I start construction of my new home?
It is anticipated that builing permits should be able to be obtained in April or May 2007; lot owners may submit plans for architectural control approval now.

How long can I own the property before I must begin construction?
Construction must begin within 24 months of the later of the lot purchase or the date set for the first building permits being available for Tara Vista.

How much are the association dues?
The association general assessment is currently $150 a year per lot. There is also a $175 per year fee for the first 10 years required by the City of Milwaukee for the future replacement of the sanitary sewer lift station. There is a one time at closing fee: $298 for a mailbox & installation; $405 for yard light with dusk to dawn eyeball includes installation.
